    When Earth was forming, it was molten and heavy elements like gold sank to the core. Around 4 billion years ago, Earth was hit by many asteroids, which stirred the planet's layers and brought gold to the crust and mantle. 

  • Volcanic eruptions

    Gold can be brought to the surface by volcanic eruptions, where it can settle in rivers and streams. 

  • Tectonic shifts

    Tectonic shifts can cause gold particles to reach the Earth's crust, where they can solidify into veins.
